This was a painting I did many years ago when I was living with my cat Pumpkin at my brother's house, just after my mother died. It brings back a lot of memories just to look at it. Pumpkin is gone now, and my brother moved out of that house long ago, and is married with three kids. I am much older and live in a different country. We learn a lot on our journey, and if we say we have no regrets, I don't think we are being honest with ourselves. There is much I wish I could go back and change in my life, do differently, but this painting, which is very dear to me, is one thing I would never change a thing on. It is filled with so much of my youthful hope, and all the love and respect I still feel, for my family, for my pets, for God and for life, that I cherish every choice I made in it.
